Peter Nahon's discovery
Peter Nahon just sent me a message that he made a discovery: the violin solo on this record (as well as LS-18B) is played not by Henryk Gold, but by Ben Horris (real name Benjamin Moscovitz, 1894-1980). They played at the "Habibi Club" 5, Rue de Metz in Paris, directed by Sigmunt Berland. Maybe the recordings have been made there and not at Leon Speiser's studio.

Henryk Gold was known in the 1950s in Paris as "La Star du Yiddisch" (The Star of the Yiddish).

The accordion in the recordings may be by Bernard Potock, from the cabaret called "La Riviera" at the 349 rue St Martin, in Paris, cabaret that he owned with the comedian Dave Cash who was specialized in Yiddish comedy songs and translations in Yiddish of French songs, and whose wife Lydia was dancer in his cabaret.
