Огромное спасибо, Владимир!
Впервые услышал номер из "Летучей Мыши" и голос самого Балиева! Не сразу расслышал, что он делает объявление на англиийском языке с невообразимым акцентом Вот, что он говорит (я сохранил ошибочку в слове "sing" - должно быть прошедшее время "sang"):

Tonight at Yar. Yar was the place in Moscow where the Russian gypsies sing sad songs.

Перевод такой :

Сегодня в Яре. Яром называлось место в Москве, где русские цыгани поют грустные песни.

имхо, очень многое определяет "место обитания", в том числе и разумность цены

найти в израиле записи Балиева? имхо, маловероятно...

ps
что приятно удивило: звук... вокал... ну просто очень хорошо! и это собственно "зачем назад пришел"

увидел сейчас в сети ролик с фрагментом выступления балета Дягилева. запись 1928 года
