On 1932 Herman Yablokof introduceg on an American radio station,
a 'new' Yiddish song, called Papirossen. The song was, and still is, a big success and was translated to many languages, infcuding Russian.

Yablokof said nothing about the origin of the song and until now it is attributed to him, lyrics and music.
Actually, he translated a song written in KIev on the early 20th.
The song, in the Russian language, is about a poor Jewish boy, trying to sell cigarettes on a rainy night The music was taken from this record - Milasha Moldovanka.
