Inspiration for Serge Jaroff?
I often asked me the question, where Serge Jaroff could have been inspirated from. Now I see that this 1903 recorded song is very similar to the very first recording of January 1925 of the Don Cossack Chorus Serge Jaroff:

Could it be that the Grigoryi Kazachenko and the Royal Choir of the Marinsky Theatre of St. Petersburg was a pattern for Jaroff? Probably he knew this artist, choir and recordings. Perhaps he has heard them in concert.

It would be interesting to know more about this artist and his choir.
